Quick Start¶
This guide walks you through running your first FLoRaSat simulation.
Prerequisites¶
Complete the Installation guide before continuing.
1. Set Up Your Environment¶
2. Run the Simulation¶
Navigate to the simulations/Custom_default/ folder. You will find 5 sub-folders and the Custom_default.ini file. Open this file and click the green run button at the top of your screen to launch the simulation.
The simulator will compile, then a window will open where you can select DevelopmentConfig and start the simulation.
Once that step is done, press the three green arrows at the top left to run the simulation in express mode (run express). If the simulation completes successfully, a "Finished" message will appear.
Command-line (faster)¶
source ~/omnetpp-6.3.0/setenv
cd simulations/Custom_default
../../../florasat -u Cmdenv -c DevelopmentConfig Custom_default.ini
3. Check the Results¶
After the run, results are written to results/. You will find .sca (scalar) and .vec (vector) files there.
In the OMNeT++ GUI¶
Double-click a .sca or .vec file — OMNeT++ will prompt you to save an analysis file; click Yes. The results view lets you browse all recorded configurations, scalars, and vectors, and sort them by name, parent module, value, etc.
Right-clicking a value lets you visualise it, copy it, or plot it. You can select multiple rows with Shift and use Copy Row to export a subset. To quickly plot a vector distribution, use Plot using Histogram from Vectors Chart. You should get something like:
Histogram of Expected C/N0 (dB-Hz) received at satellite 3.
